THINK LONG AND HARD
WHAT IS THE SEARCH TERM YOU WOULD USE TO FIND A PLACE TO RENT ON YOUR NEXT VACATION? WOULD YOU TYPE “TOURIST RENTALS”? HOW ABOUT “SHORT TERM RENTALS”? WOULD YOU TYPE SOME EXOTIC ABBREVIATION LIKE “ECBO” (EVERGREEN CABINS BY OWNER)? OF COURSE NOT – YOU WOULD TYPE THE TERMS THAT MAKE SENSE.

These included terms like “Panama City Vacation Rentals” or “Vacation Rentals in Branson, MO”

Regional sites are a waste of time
Lately there has been a push to “regionalize” websites in the hope they can generate enthusiasm with the national level directories. Yes – occassionally they will see 1 or 2 bookings come through. By and large though, it is the national directories that will win out in the end because they offer the one stop solution for consumers and make it easy for them to navigate quickly to what they want. Here’s the irony of it though. These regional sites charge virtually the same amount for membership that we do and offer virtually nothing in return and that’s not right.
